All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His messenger, Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions. We thank Allah (SWT) for giving us the ability to fast the past Month of Ramadan, to Celebrate Eid Al Fitr, to reach on the Months of Dhul Hijjah and the 10 best days in it and the ability to worship him alone.
The first 10 days of Dhul-Hajjah are considered the most honorable and best days of a year. The Prophet (PBUH) said
“No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first 10 days of Dhul-Hajjah).”
Then some companions of the Prophet (PBUH) asked “Not even Jihad?”
He replied, “Not even Jihad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah’s sake i.e with his life and property) and does not return with any of those things (i.e martyred).” – (Bukhari)
Fasting for the first 9 days of Dhul-Hajjah is from the best among the voluntary fasting; and fasting on the 9th of Dhul Hajjah (Day of Arafah) is the best among these days. The Prophet (PBUH) forbade fasting on the day of Arafah for one who is at Arafah.
The Prophet (PBUH) said: “There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than on the day of Arafa.” -(Muslim)
The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Fasting on the Day of Arafa expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year.” – (Muslim)
